Organizing Director

The Organizing Director supports the work of MF Professional Services, Inc. (MFPS) and its clients, including Mi Familia Vota (MFV) and Mi Familia en Acción (MFA), by leading community organizing initiatives focused on community engagement, leadership development, issue advocacy, and electoral organizing.

This position develops and oversees strategic organizing campaigns designed to build long-term community power and increase civic participation within Latino communities. Working closely with the State Director and the Campaigns and Programs Department, the Organizing Director integrates the organizations' Ladder of Engagement and organizing model into state strategies and campaign plans.

The Organizing Director supervises organizing staff and field teams, oversees campaign planning and execution, and collaborates with communications, data, program, and other internal teams. This position is also responsible for establishing organizing goals, monitoring performance metrics, strengthening field operations, and ensuring accountability, compliance, and continuous improvement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement organizing strategies aligned with organizational priorities, state plans, and campaign goals.

  • Integrate the organizations' Ladder of Engagement and organizing model into state-level strategies and activities.

  • Ensure the integration of long-term community power-building initiatives with cyclical electoral organizing efforts.

  • Plan and oversee community engagement, voter registration, voter education, Get Out the Vote ("GOTV"), and issue-advocacy initiatives.

  • Establish measurable organizing goals, benchmarks, timelines, and accountability systems.

  • Monitor and evaluate organizing, community leadership-development, voter-contact, and campaign-performance metrics.

  • Analyze organizing data and community feedback to identify trends, opportunities for growth, and necessary strategic adjustments.

  • Collaborate with data, communications, campaigns, programs, and other internal teams to ensure coordinated campaign planning and execution.

  • Prepare and provide timely reports, updates, and recommendations to organizational leadership.

  • Build and maintain productive relationships with community members, coalition partners, local organizations, elected officials, service providers, and other stakeholders.

  • Support organizing staff in recruiting, developing, and engaging community members and volunteer leaders.

  • Develop strategies to increase civic participation and strengthen community leadership.

  • Oversee and support community meetings, leadership trainings, public events, outreach activities, mobilizations, and advocacy efforts.

  • Represent MFPS and its clients professionally at coalition meetings, community events, and external engagements.

  • Ensure organizing strategies and activities remain community-centered and responsive to local needs and priorities.

  • Supervise, coach, and support organizing staff and field teams.

  • Establish clear goals, expectations, work plans, and performance standards for assigned employees.

  • Monitor employee performance and provide regular feedback, coaching, mentorship, and professional-development opportunities.

  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, respectful, and accountable team culture.

  • Support the recruitment, interviewing, selection, onboarding, training, and management of permanent, temporary, and seasonal organizing staff.

  • Collaborate with Human Resources and management on performance-management, employee-relations, and corrective-action processes, as appropriate.

  • Promote employee compliance with organizational policies, voter-engagement requirements, data-security standards, and applicable health and safety protocols.

  • Oversee the implementation of voter-contact programs, canvassing operations, phone and text banking, and other field outreach activities.

  • Ensure organizing and field staff follow established outreach, reporting, quality-control, and data-entry procedures.

  • Ensure voter databases, constituent relationship management systems, and organizing tools are used accurately and consistently.

  • Monitor field activities and address operational, staffing, performance, and compliance concerns promptly.

  • Support the hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, and management of temporary and seasonal staff during election cycles.

  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure adequate staffing, materials, technology, data, and other resources for field operations.

  • Support rapid-response organizing, mobilization, and campaign efforts as needed.

  • Ensure all organizing and electoral activities are conducted in accordance with applicable laws, organizational policies, and the requirements governing the supported client organization.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications Education

A specific degree is not required. Relevant education, training, lived experience, and professional or volunteer experience will be considered.
