The Family Nurse Practitioner is primarily responsible for providing comprehensive primary health care services through the identification, management and/or referral of the health problems and the maintenance of the client's health by means of preventive care and health promotion. Will perform assignments, which can vary from routine to exceptional in nature and are carried out with minimal guidance in accordance with clinic office practices and procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical histories and physical exams
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic illnesses
- Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests (labs, imaging, etc.)
- Prescribe medications and develop treatment plans
- Provide preventive care (immunizations, screenings, wellness visits)
- Educate patients and families on health conditions, treatment plans, and lifestyle modifications
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant medical documentation
- Ensure care meets quality, safety, and regulatory standards
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education
