Position: ICU RN📍 Radius Rule

• ❌ Artificial nails prohibited (removal required or contract termination)
• 📝 RN Orientation Exam

  • Must score 90% to pass
  • Given on Friday of orientation
  • Failure = termination

• Patient Population: Adults & Peds (15+ years)

• ICU: 1:1–2
• PCU: 1:4–5
• Med Surg: 1:5–6

• Neuro surgery (new thrombectomy program – experience not required)
• Respiratory failure / ARDS
• MODS
• Sepsis
• Stroke
• Cardiogenic shock (Impella, balloon pump – exp. not required)
• Renal failure (CRRT – exp. not required)
• General surgery
• Psych/Overdose
• GI bleeds
• Cancer surgeries (esophagectomy, chemo administration)

• CVP, A-lines, Swans
• EV-1000
• ICP monitoring
• Zoll Thermoguard (hypothermia protocol)
• Bellmont rapid transfuser
• CRRT
• Vents (RN manages from nasal cannula to ventilator)

• No monitor techs
• Brand:

• RNs must interpret their own strips

• RNs must titrate

• Charge nurse each shift (responds to RRTs & codes)
• CNAs: 1:18 ratio

• 12-hour shifts:
  • 0630–1830
  • 1830–0630
• Manager creates schedule
• Weekends:
  Every other
• Holidays: 2 of 3 major (or as needed)
• Floating:
  All inpatient units except Maternity/NICU
• Scrubs:
  Navy Blue
• Orientation: 2 shifts

• Must be submitted upfront
• Max 7 days per 13-week contract
• No additional RTO after submission
