Overview
Pediatric Nurse Practitioner – Hospital Medicine at Phoenix Children’s Division of Hospital Medicine. Minimum of 2 years pediatrics experience is required;
Hospital Medicine, Emergency Department, or ICU experience is preferred to join our growing program.
The Division of Hospital Medicine at Phoenix Children’s is the largest pediatric Hospital Medicine program in Arizona. We offer comprehensive evaluation, diagnostic, treatment and inpatient services for children and families, including medical evaluations, nutrition counseling, diagnostic and laboratory testing, imaging, and procedures. The program serves as the largest Pediatric Hospital Medicine program in the region, caring for a population of 7 million residents, with 1.5 million in the pediatric age range.
Responsibilities- Participate in the care of pediatric patients admitted to Phoenix Children’s.
- Admit patients and round with the inpatient attending to address daily care.
- Perform daily EHR documentation and communicate with consultants.
- Answer questions from bedside RNs and coordinate patient discharges.
- Engage in focused quality improvement or research projects when possible.
- Involved in NP student teaching through affiliated programs as part of core values.
There are multiple opportunities within the program for specialty interests. We participate in multi-specialty care teams, national Quality Improvement projects, and local development of novel clinical pathways.
Team and ScheduleClinical staff includes over 60 physicians and 4 Nurse Practitioners. The NP position currently covers Main Campus and may cover secondary sites as the campus footprint grows. Both day and night positions are available.
About Phoenix Children’s CampusPhoenix Children’s main campus, located in the heart of Phoenix, is a full-service, freestanding, tertiary medical center with 480+ licensed beds (72 ICU beds and 49 NICU beds). The system is growing toward 610 licensed beds with 60 NICU beds. Phoenix Children’s is a teaching hospital, actively involved in clinical research and dedicating $10 million annually to support research activities.
