At Valley wise Health, our Ostomy/Wound Care RNs are trusted experts who bring advanced clinical knowledge and compassionate care to patients facing complex wound and ostomy needs. In this role, you’ll work autonomously while collaborating with physicians, nurses, and families to improve healing outcomes and enhance quality of life.
What You’ll Do:- Develop and implement individualized care plans for patients with stomas, wounds, and pressure injuries.
- Provide preoperative and postoperative education to patients and families, empowering them with the skills and confidence needed for successful recovery.
- Offer expert consultation to patients, physicians, and nursing staff on wound and ostomy treatments, procedures, and evidence-based best practices.
- Deliver care tailored to the unique developmental needs of the population you serve.
- Practice autonomously while aligning with Valley wise Health’s mission, vision, and values.
- Advocate for patients by protecting their health, safety, and rights while promoting dignity and independence.
Hourly Pay Range: $36.94 - $54.49
Qualifications EducationRequires a Bachelor's degree or higher in Nursing.
ExperienceRequires a minimum of three (3) years nursing experience in the area of Ostomy/Wound care.
Certification/LicensureMust have a current, valid Arizona RN license, or compact RN license, or Nurse Practitioner license.
A BLS card obtained through an approved American Heart Association (AHA) training center is preferred and will be required within 3 months.
WOCN certification is required within the first twelve (12) months of employment in this position.
Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesMust demonstrate effective problem solving, prioritization, and decision-making skills.
Must be able to remain calm and customer focused during stressful situations.
Requires computer literacy, facilitation skills, ability to handle multiple complex projects, excellent written and verbal communication skills, time management skills, leadership skills, critical thinking, SBAR communication model.
Must demonstrate compliance of Valley wise Health policies and procedures, standards of care, and documentation in practice.
Must be able to model professional behavior as evidenced by adherence to attendance.
Ability to work with culturally diverse people is a must.
Requires the ability to read, write and speak effectively in English. Bilingual skills helpful.
