Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Registered Nurse to join our dynamic Pediatric Spine team. This is a unique opportunity to work closely with a collaborative group of 7 surgeons and 7 APPs who care for children with complex spine and neurological conditions.
Position OverviewThis role is evenly split between:
- 50% Phone Triage
- 50% In-Clinic Patient/Family Care
Schedule is 5 days per week (5/8’s), typically 7:00 AM - 4:30 PM, with some flexibility available.
Patient PopulationYou will care for patients from newborn through 18 years old, many with highly complex spine conditions, including:
- Severe scoliosis
- Spine conditions involving both bone and nerve involvement
- Post-surgical spine patients
Our team works “hand-in-glove” with surgeons who perform advanced orthopedic and joint-related spine procedures. This is an evolving practice with opportunities to grow alongside a specialized surgical team.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive phone triage for complex spine patients
- Deliver in-depth clinic-based education to patients and families
- Conduct post-operative follow-up and discharge calls
- Support care coordination across multidisciplinary teams
- Assist in developing and refining patient education materials and information sheets
- 3-4 years of inpatient RN experience required
- Strong background in neurology, PICU, NICU, or other critical care setting
- Experience working with medically complex pediatric patients preferred
- Ideal candidate will have an educator mindset and experience creating or contributing to patient education resources

This position, in collaboration with the healthcare team, patient, and family, coordinates and promotes patient health utilizing evidence-based practice in the delivery of professional nursing care across the care continuum. This position advocates for the patient and family adhering to nursing and medical plans of care, regulatory standards, and organizational values.
Education- Two year (ADN) degree in nursing, a four year degree (BSN) in nursing, or a Diploma Nursing degree. (Required)
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or currently enrolled in an RN to BSN program. (Preferred)
- Pediatric experience. (Preferred) Certifications
- Current State of Arizona RN license or an RN license from a compact state with multistate privileges or the ability to establish licensure according to Arizona law prior to start date. (Required)
- Current BLS certification for Healthcare Provider from the American Heart Association. (Required)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS) certification may be required within 90 days of entry into the position for select departments. (Preferred)
