Hours:
36 hours (rotating schedule – 36 hours week one, 48 hours week two) - Salary Range: $32.50 – $48.00 per hour
- Sign‑on bonus: $25,000 (eligible), $12,500 paid after 60 days
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides professional nursing care for residents of all ages in long‑term care, under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician. The LPN demonstrates knowledge of nursing principles, practices within the full scope of nursing expertise, and utilizes appropriate age‑specific standards related to the physical and psychosocial needs of the resident as per the care plan.
The LPN performs assessments, administers medications or treatments as ordered, documents resident interactions, and collaborates effectively with a multidisciplinary care team.
- Assess residents and provide nursing care proficiently.
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered.
- Document resident interactions, medication administration, behavior, activity, and dietary information.
- Recognize problems, recommend solutions, and respond effectively to emergent situations.
- Maintain effective working relationships with residents, families, healthcare providers, and the public.
- Communicate clearly and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Counsel residents, family members, and/or residents’ advocates on prevention and treatment plans.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
- Associate degree in practical nursing is preferred.
- Must have attended a pre‑licensure nursing program that included supervised clinical experience across the life span as part of the curriculum or have had a minimum of 400 hours of experience as LPN at another facility.
- Currently holds an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with the State Nursing Board and/or possesses multi‑state licensure privileges.
- In North Dakota, if IV therapy/management skills are required, the LPN must have graduated from a Board‑approved AASPN program where IV therapy is part of the curriculum or completed an IV Therapy course approved by the North Dakota Board of Nursing.
- Obtains and subsequently maintains required department‑specific competencies and certifications.
- Completes required annual continuing education units (CEU) and competency training requirements of the department and facility.
