Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Brain Tumor Navigator RN, you will provide advanced clinical navigation and direct patient care for neuro-oncology patients across the continuum, applying thorough assessments and nursing expertise to support safe, patient-centered care. You will serve as a central point of contact, helping patients and caregivers overcome barriers and coordinating with various clinical services to ensure a seamless treatment experience.

The Brain Tumor Navigator RN provides advanced clinical navigation and direct patient care for neuro-oncology patients across the continuum of care. This role applies advanced nursing assessment, independent clinical judgment, and multidisciplinary coordination to support timely, safe, and patient-centered care. The Navigator RN serves as a primary point of contact for patients and caregivers, addresses barriers to care, and promotes continuity across clinical services.
In addition, the Brain Tumor Navigator RN integrates clinical research into patient care by supporting protocol-required activities, prioritizing participant safety, and educating patients on investigational therapies in collaboration with the multidisciplinary and research teams. The role upholds institutional, regulatory, and professional standards to ensure high-quality outcomes and an exceptional patient experience.
- Provides direct patient care and clinical navigation for neuro-oncology patients across the continuum of care, including assessment, symptom management, and follow-up.
- Coordinates care across multidisciplinary teams (e.g., neurosurgery, neuro-oncology, radiation oncology, pharmacy, research, and support services) to ensure timely and effective care delivery.
- Performs comprehensive nursing assessments and applies advanced clinical judgment, including evaluation of medical history, treatment-related symptoms, and psychosocial needs, and communicates findings to providers.
- Educates patients and families on diagnosis, treatment plans, symptom management, investigational therapies, and available support resources to promote informed decision-making.
- Serves as the primary point of contact and clinical liaison for patients and caregivers, facilitating navigation of appointments, procedures, and individualized care plans.
- Identifies and mitigates barriers to care, including clinical, psychosocial, logistical, and financial barriers, and facilitates referrals to appropriate internal and external resources.
- Bachelors of Nursing
- Two to five (2-5) years clinical experience with neuroscience patients
- Registered Nurse: AZ
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support - CPR
- Masters Of Science or Education in Nursing or related discipline
- Four to six (4-6) years of experience with demonstrated accomplishments in clinical program development
- Experience in neuro-oncology, neuroscience, oncology, neurosurgery or a related specialty
- Experience providing direct patient care, including independent clinical assessment, symptom management, and coordination of complex care across multidisciplinary teams
- Experience supporting or coordinating clinical research activities preferred, including patient education related to investigational therapies and adherence to safety and regulatory requirements
