Job Description

Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) responsible for supporting plasma center operations, including donor eligibility assessment, adverse event management, laboratory result review, and compliance with industry regulations.

Every day, donors help create life‑changing medicines. This role requires a commitment to customer service and quality, working under guidance of the Center Manager and physician.

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
• Monitor donor reactions and handle medical emergencies per SOPs, supporting standing orders and donor transport to emergency care.
• Coordinate with Center Physician or Medical Affairs on findings, medical or technical issues, and donor safety and eligibility.
• Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents, evaluating need for occupational health involvement and following EHS guidance.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS, supporting investigations of pandemic threats.

• High school diploma or equivalent, including completion of a recognized nursing program with state requirements.
• Current state license or certification as LPN or LVN.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfills state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Completion of FDA‑approved Bio Life Medical Support Specialist training.
• At least two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Hourly wage range: $25.60 – $35.20 per hour, based on qualifications and experience.
