Acute Care Nurse Practitioner – Cardiology
Banner University Medical Center – Tucson, part of Banner University Medical Group – Tucson, seeks an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to provide care in inpatient and outpatient settings, with a flexible schedule of 50% inpatient and 50% outpatient support.
You will work alongside cardiology, cardiac surgery, heart failure, transplant, and other cardiovascular patients, collaborating with physicians, nursing staff, case managers, and support personnel in a fast‑paced environment.
Work schedule:
Monday through Friday, 8‑hour days, rotating weekends and holidays.
Patient volume: 16 outpatient patients per day and 5–10 inpatient patients per day, with rounding on CCU and ICU teams.
Essential Functions andRequired Qualifications
- NP Board Certification
- Current Arizona Medical License
- Current BLS and ACLS certification
- Current prescribing privileges, including a DEA license for controlled substances
- 1–2 years of relevant experience (preferred); new NP graduates encouraged, especially with cardiology or cardiac surgery experience
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work closely with physicians and other clinicians as part of a team
- Detail-oriented, dedicated to providing excellent care in challenging situations
