Cystic Fibrosis/Pulmonary Clinical Nurse - PRN
PRN Clinical Nurse in the Cystic Fibrosis/Pulmonary Program. Flexible schedule with a minimum of 2 days per week (preferred 3 days).
Responsibilities- Provide clinical support for pediatric Cystic Fibrosis and pulmonary patients.
- Deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care in a clinic setting.
- Collaborate closely with providers and multidisciplinary teams.
- Utilize multiple platforms to complete nursing assessments of patients and families, synthesize data, determine nursing diagnoses, prioritize needs, and develop a nursing plan of care.
- Implement plans of care following regulatory and organizational policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Provide health education on promotion and management of acute and chronic conditions.
- Coordinate care and manage transitions within the organization and community.
- Advocate for patients and families, offering support and guidance.
- Evaluate patient understanding and response to care plan, share observations, modify diagnoses and plan based on re‑evaluation, and document in the medical record.
- Facilitate safe patient care, monitor quality indicators, identify process improvement opportunities.
- Supervise and delegate patient‑care activities, provide feedback and review for safety and performance.
- Ensure compliance with medication storage, documentation standards, and regulations.
- Mentor students and new employees, providing guidance and training.
- Perform miscellaneous duties as requested.
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (pulmonary or Cystic Fibrosis preferred).
- Prior clinic experience strongly preferred.
- Graduate of an ADN, BSN or Nursing diploma. Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or enrollment in RN to BSN program preferred.
- Pediatric experience preferred.
- Current State of Arizona RN license (or compatible compact license) required; must have license before start date.
- Current BLS certification for Healthcare Provider required.
- PALS or PEARS certification may be required within 90 days of entry (preferred).
- Proficiency in patient assessment, nursing care plan development, implementation, evaluation, and documentation.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to work independently and supervise staff as needed.
- Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting up to 35 pounds, frequent standing, walking, use of keyboard, etc.
- Exposure to bedside environments includes standard infection control, airborne communicable disease precautions, blood borne pathogens handling, and common office hazards.
