  • + $2/hr – Monday‑Thursday Nights
  • + $3/hr – Friday‑Sunday Nights
  • + $2/hr – Saturday‑Sunday Days
What You’ll Do

The Behavioral Health Specialist (BHS) manages and maintains the safety of individuals and staff. The role includes taking vitals, providing exceptional customer service, and documenting services in the Electronic Health Record.

  • Conduct security screening, inventory property, and orient patients to the Observation Unit and Short‑term Inpatient Unit. Educate patients on rights under ADHS regulations, grievance process, expectations, and rules.
  • Intervene with escalated individuals using therapeutic de‑escalation techniques and perform restraints/seclusions when necessary. Complete 1‑to‑1 documentation for patients in seclusion or mechanical restraints.
  • Lift, move, and transport individuals using proper body mechanics or lifting devices.
  • Assist with activities of daily living (eating, bathing, dressing, toileting, transferring).
  • Conduct vitals and document results; report questionable findings to RN/Physician. Document BAL, urine drug screens, and pregnancy tests.
  • Attend court‑ordered hearings when subpoenaed; be available as a witness if required.
  • Document all services and significant interactions in the Electronic Health Record; monitor and document patients Q15.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the facility and assigned unit, perform light cleaning, collect soiled linen, and launder clothing as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
What You’ll Bring
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in behavioral health, social services, or a related field.
  • Ability to perform Safe Clinch patient restraint techniques.
  • All successful applicants must be fully vaccinated per the company’s mandatory vaccination policy.
Physical Requirements
  • Safely perform physical interventions (standing, pivoting, reaching, kneeling, lowering to the floor).
  • Lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lbs occasionally.
  • Tolerate prolonged walking, standing, and observation in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Work with individuals who may exhibit agitation, aggression, or unpredictable behavior.
It Would Be Great If You Had
  • Certified training (Safe Clinch, CPR, First Aid, therapeutic options, etc.).
  • Completion of CNA or Patient Care Tech program.
  • Two (2) years of experience in behavioral health.
  • Completion of BHT certification.
