UnitOverview
The Banner Estrella Medical Center Medical/Surgical 6A Unit is looking for a new addition to the team! Our 36 bed Orthopedic/acute care post-surgical unit is teamwork centered. As an RN on this unit you will have a ratio of 5:1 both days and nights with a PCA for every 12 patients to aid in providing care to the diverse population of acute care and post-surgical patients.
We are looking for a great skilled nurse to join the team where strong communication, teamwork complements our unique “family feel” culture. This unit has a strong established servant leadership to support your career goals and advocate for your needs as a nursing professional. Our care includes 24‑hour Hospitalist coverage and a full range of ancillary services.
Night shifts available from 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM rotating weekend/holidays. The position offers an 18% night shift differential and a flat rate $3/hour weekend shift differential, with the opportunity to use our self‑scheduling tool for shift and weekend coverage.
Position SummaryThis position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and in accordance with standards of professional nursing practice utilizing the framework for professional nursing practice and development. This position is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self or others who are under their direction. This position utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills necessary to assess data and plan, provide and evaluate care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of assigned patients.
CoreFunctions
Plans care in collaboration with members of the multidisciplinary team. Reviews and revises the plan of care to reflect changing patient needs based on evaluation of the patient’s status.
