You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and work as a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations. Bio Life Plasma Services is a subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd.

About the role:

You will determine donor eligibility for donation, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable results. The role is under the guidance of the Center Manager and the Center Physician. The Medical Support Specialist should be familiar with regulations of the plasma collection industry or a manufacturing environment. The role follows guidance from Bio Life Medical Affairs and provides center-level support of EHS.

This is a full‑time position.

• Determine donor eligibility, including proper management of informed consent, AIDS education, and confidential self‑exclusion; conduct medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and review of serological protein electrophoresis (SPE).
• Evaluate donor reactions as described in the SOPs and follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies, including development of physician standing orders and transport to emergency care facilities.
• Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or for medical or technical guidance concerning donor safety and eligibility.
• Support the Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation by occupational health/ER is required; refer to EHS guidance.
• Serve as a pandemic coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats in the local community.

• High school diploma or equivalent, including a graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
• Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: EMT‑Paramedic or EMT‑Intermediate.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Complete FDA‑approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.

USA – AZ – Phoenix

U.S. hourly wage: $24.00 – $33.00, subject to qualifications and location. Actual wage in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements. Eligible for short‑term incentives and additional benefits. U.S. employees eligible for up to 80 hours sick time and 120 hours paid vacation.
