Job Description
Bio Life Plasma Services, a subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd., is seeking a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations. This full‑time position is located in Phoenix, AZ.
Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of serological protein electrophoresis (SPE).
- Manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable test results.
- Evaluate donor reactions and respond to medical emergencies per SOPs; develop Center Physician’s standing orders and coordinate donor transport to emergency care facilities.
- Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for medical or technical issues to ensure donor safety and eligibility.
- Support hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents and determine if further evaluation is required by occupational health or ER; consult EHS guidance for incident handling.
- Act as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats.
- High school diploma or higher, including graduate equivalent from a recognized nursing program with state requirements.
- Licensed or certified as an LPN or LVN in the state where responsibilities will be assigned.
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Completion of FDA‑approved training for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- At least two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
Hourly wage: $25.60–$35.20 (U.S. AZ). Paid sick time: up to 80 hours per year; paid vacation: up to 120 hours for new hires.
