Position SummaryAs the clinical leader and Director of Behavioral Health RNs and Behavioral Health Specialists, you will oversee a 48‑bed Behavioral Health Adolescents Unit within Banner Behavioral Health Hospital (BBHH) in Scottsdale, AZ. The position reports to the RN Senior Director, Chief Nursing Officer and includes financial oversight, staff development, and operational management for a staff of approximately 70–80 RN and BHS staff.
Key Responsibilities- Provide 24‑hour accountability and oversight for unit operations including clinical care, staffing, scheduling, and departmental budget.
- Lead and develop RN and BHS staff, including recruitment, retention, performance management, and professional development.
- Ensure high quality, compassionate, safe, and cost‑effective patient care through the implementation of evidence‑based practices and adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with physician, facility, and organizational leaders to promote a professional practice environment and achieve strategic goals.
- Manage financial outcomes, including budget development, cost control, and participation in Banner’s Management Incentive Plan.
- Direct the integration of innovation and evidence‑based findings into clinical practice, fostering an environment of continuous improvement.
- Maintain clinical excellence and patient safety by monitoring outcomes and utilizing data for problem‑solving.
- BSN or MSN in nursing or related field (minimum for new hires after July 1 2013; incumbents required to complete by July 1 2015).
- Current RN license in Arizona and BLS certification.
- At least 5 years of RN experience with a minimum of 2 years of leadership or program development experience.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in adolescent behavioral health.
- Strong written, oral, decision‑making, and critical‑thinking skills.
- Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card and Arizona Criminal History Affidavit at hire and maintained thereafter.
- Additional related education and/or experience in behavioral health or program development.
- Master’s degree in nursing, healthcare administration, or a related field.
