• Record patients’ medical history and symptoms; assist with diagnostic tests; analyze results.
• Operate medical equipment and administer treatments, medications, and therapies.
• Start, maintain, and discontinue intravenous (IV) lines for fluids, medications, blood, and blood products.
• Observe patients, record observations, and consult with physicians and other clinicians.
• Develop or contribute to patient care plans, ensuring they are family‑centered, culturally relevant, and evidence‑based.
• Teach patients and families how to manage illnesses or injuries, including post‑treatment care, diet, nutrition, exercise, and self‑medication.
• Provide direction to licensed practical nurses and nursing aides; delegate tasks appropriately.
• Support clinical knowledge advancement by precepting new hires, students, and staff; assist them in completing competency tasks.
• Continuously enhance knowledge of nursing practice and patient care requirements.
• Implement nursing diagnoses, interventions, and evaluate outcomes to ensure effective, cost‑efficient care.
• Document observations and interventions in a retrievable format.
• Evaluate the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice; integrate ethical principles and promote diversity and cultural competency.
• Collaborate within the multidisciplinary team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care delivery.
• Participate in evidence‑based research to identify strategies for improving practice and patient outcomes.
• Consider safety, effectiveness, and cost factors when planning and delivering patient care.

• All Diploma and ADN hires must complete a BSN within 60 months of hire.
• Associate’s or Diploma in Nursing required.
• BSN required for positions with direct responsibility for stroke patient care.

• Minimum 10 months in med‑surg or acute specialty setting.
• Minimum 1 year RN experience required for all float positions.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Arizona required upon hire.
• National certification for unit‑specific patient populations required; preferred for specialty areas.
• Unit‑specific certification may be required further on arrival.
