Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Specialty Nurse Practitioner, in collaboration with the physician/medical director, you will assume clinical responsibility for tasks performed within your scope of practice. This includes taking patient’s history, performing physical examinations, ordering appropriate diagnostic tests, establishing diagnosis, and providing care and management for common illnesses and disease prevention.
Every day, you may assist with patient admission, transfer, or discharge, make appropriate referrals to specialists and community agencies, and participate in quality assurance and quality improvement programs. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to develop patient-centered plans. In addition to routine duties, you will provide care and management for acutely ill patients, respond to emergency situations, and may see patients in intensive care units or other high-acuity settings.
To be successful in your role, you will strategically deliver comprehensive, specialized patient care, assuming clinical responsibility for assessing, diagnosing, and managing common illnesses and acute conditions, often in critical care settings. You will demonstrate exceptional clinical expertise in performing physical examinations, ordering diagnostic tests, and collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team to develop patient-centered plans, while actively participating in quality assurance and ensuring appropriate referrals and care management.
Job RequirementsRequired
- Master's degree in nursing from an accredited program for Nurse Practitioners
- Three (3) years clinical experience in a related area or specialty field
- Compact state or Arizona RN license (RN)
- Arizona Advance Practice Nurse license (LIC APN)
- National Certificate as a nurse practitioner in area of specialty under AZ regulations
- CT NP-AACN
- CT NP-AANP
- CT NP-ANCC
- CT NP-PNCB
- DEA registration
- American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (CPRBLS)
