Overview
Phoenix Children’s is seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Attending (CLNA) to provide overnight clinical leadership and support in our NICU. This leadership-focused role is dedicated to advancing clinical excellence, mentoring bedside nurses, improving patient safety, and driving quality outcomes through evidence-based practice. While the Clinical Nurse Attending does not have formal direct reports, they lead through clinical expertise, collaboration, and influence at the bedside, serving as a trusted resource for the nursing team.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of direct bedside RN experience, a BSN or graduate degree, and a strong background in critical care, quality improvement, and staff development. National nursing certification (or willingness to obtain within six months) is required. This is a full-time, exempt night shift position, 10 hour shifts - working 4 days per week - Monday through Friday from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM.

The Clinical Nurse Attending is a leadership position focused on the clinical management of patients. The Clinical Nurse Attending prepares highly skilled nurses focused on improving quality and safety outcomes for patients or patient populations. The Clinical Nurse Attending assumes accountability for patient-care outcomes through the translation of evidence-based information to design, implement, and evaluate patient-care processes and models of care delivery.
Education- Bachelors Degree in Nursing. (Required)
- Masters degree in related field (Preferred)
- Five or more years of related experience in a health care setting. (Required)
- Current AZ RN license or an RN license from a compact state with multistate privileges or the ability to establish licensure to Arizona law prior to start date. (Required)
- National certification in area of specialty or related field acquired within the first 6 months of employment. (Required)
- Current BLS Certification for Healthcare Provider from the American Heart Association. (Required)
- Ability to communicate effectively and demonstrate positive customer relations. (Required)
