Job Title: Registered Nurse – Night Shift, Telemetry Unit 3P – Advanced Cardiac Care
Location: Deer Valley, Phoenix, AZ 85027
Shift: Night
Department: Telemetry Unit 3P – Advanced Cardiac Care
Responsibilities- Practice guided by the ANA Standard for Professional Nursing and Code of Ethics.
- Record patients’ medical histories and symptoms, assist with diagnostic tests, and analyze results.
- Operate medical equipment and administer treatments and medications.
- Assist with patient follow‑up and rehabilitation.
- Establish or contribute to patient care plans and ensure they are family‑centered, developmentally and culturally appropriate.
- Administer medications with careful dosage checks and interaction avoidance.
- Start, maintain, and discontinue intravenous (IV) lines for fluids, medications, and blood products.
- Administer therapies and treatments, observe patients, and record observations.
- Consult with physicians and other healthcare clinicians as needed.
- Teach patients and families about illness management, home care, nutrition, and self‑administration of medication.
- Provide direction to licensed practical nurses and nursing aides, delegating tasks appropriately.
- Precept new hires and students, helping them complete competency skills.
- Continuously enhance knowledge in nursing management and patient care.
- Collect health data systematically, prioritize collection based on patient condition, and involve family members.
- Analyze assessment data to determine diagnoses and develop evidence‑based care plans.
- Implement interventions, initiate treatments, and apply emergency and resuscitative measures based on standing orders.
- Document observations, interventions, therapeutic measures, and monitoring data in a retrievable format.
- Evaluate patient progress toward outcomes and modify care plans as needed.
- Assess and improve nursing practice quality, integrating ethical principles and evidence‑based research.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and participate in professional development activities.
- Valid Arizona Registered Nurse (RN) license, or equivalent state/license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Unit‑specific national certification required at the time of hire.
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience for all float positions.
- At least 10 months of experience in medical‑surgical or acute specialty settings.
- Current BSN required for stroke‑specific care or 5+ years of direct RN experience if not holding a BSN.
- Associate’s degree or diploma in Nursing required.
- BSN preferred; if holding an ADN, must complete a BSN within 60 months of hire.
