Position Summary:

This full‑time night‑shift nursing position provides care to patients with renal and liver transplants in the Transplant PCU at Banner University Medical Center. The role requires assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation of nursing care, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities
  • Assesses patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural and discharge planning needs. Reviews patient history and physical with patient/family and ensures completion in an appropriate timeframe, reviewing diagnostics and laboratory data, and reporting abnormal results.
  • Formulates a plan of care, including the discharge plan, based on assessment data and patient/family input, setting realistic, measurable goals.
  • Implements the plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation and supervision of the health care team, and promotes continuity of care by communicating patient status.
  • Evaluates patient and family response to care and teaching, revises the plan of care, and assesses progress towards goals.
  • Documents assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in the patient record in a timely, legible, policy‑compliant manner.
  • Provides evidence‑based care, participates in research activities, unit leadership, education and orientation of personnel, patients, students, and families, and mentors when appropriate.
  • Contributes to society through activities that improve patient outcomes, including participation in professional organizations.
  • May supervise staff and workflow in the department.
  • Interacts with all levels of staff, physicians, patients, families, and external contacts, including clergy for spiritual support.
  • Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications
    • Current, valid RN license (or temporary/interim/compact RN license) in the state of practice.
    • BLS certification.
    • Experience in an acute care setting within the past 12 months as a Registered Nurse in a specialty area.
    • Minimum one year of experience in an acute care hospital setting for Banner Registry and Travel acute care positions.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree.
    • Professional certification.
    • Additional related education and/or experience.
