Registered Nurse

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse for the Pre-Operative Care and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit. This position requires a minimum of 2 years of PACU experience and includes a critical focus on cardiac patients. Candidates must possess ICU experience and be comfortable with complex patient care. Responsibilities involve monitoring patient recovery from anesthesia and managing post-operative care. The ability to maintain a sterile field is critical, and nurses must demonstrate competence in Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes.

A pass/fail exam will be conducted during orientation, covering essential nursing skills. Team members will engage with lifts, restraints, and wound care as part of educational sessions. Cardiac Cath Lab recovery and understanding of conscious sedation principles will be essential in this role. Nursing teams will follow a patient ratio of 1:2. Electronic medical records will be managed using the Cerner system.

Weekend shifts are required based on a pre-determined schedule. No floating between units will occur, and all nurses will receive two days of floor-specific orientation. Pharmacy and respiratory therapy services will be available 24/7. This role offers an opportunity to work within a fast-paced, acute care setting focused on cardiac patient care.
