Job Overview

We are seeking an RN ICU Float Pool Nurse for Banner Estrella Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona. The RN will provide care on the ICU and may float to Med/Surg, PCU, and Obs units as staffing needs require.

Schedule & Pay

3x12‑hour night shifts (7:00PM–7:30AM) with weekend rotations.
18% night shift differential.
Flat $3/hr weekend differential.
$3/hr float incentive on top of base pay.

Position Summary

Assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and standards of professional nursing practice.

Core Functions

Assesses patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural and discharge planning needs; reviews history, diagnostics, laboratory data; reports abnormal results; completes reassessments.

Formulates a plan of care including the discharge plan; initiates and revises plans based on patient data and team input; sets realistic, measurable goals.

Implements the plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation and supervision; provides care based on physician orders; delegates appropriately; communicates patient status.

Evaluates patient and family response to care and teaching, and revises the plan of care as needed; assesses progress toward goals.

Documents assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in the patient record; ensures documentation is legible, timely and policy compliant.

Provides care based on best evidence; participates in research activities within clinical practice; engages in shared leadership and mentors others.

Contributes to timely, effective, equitable, and safe care; participates in improvement of national nursing quality indicators and outcomes; engages in professional organizations.

In some roles supervises staff and workflow of the department.

Interacts with stakeholders across the organization, external partners, clergy, and the broader community to support patient care.

Minimum Qualifications

Current, valid RN license in the state of practice (or temporary/interim/compact license as applicable).
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Experience in an acute care setting within the past 12 months as a Registered Nurse; one year of experience required for acute care or physician practice roles.
Ability to maintain clinical performance competencies through annual validations.
Valid driver's license and personal vehicle (required for home health or travel roles, as applicable).
Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card and Criminal History Affidavit (required for behavioral health roles, as applicable).

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
Professional nursing certification.
Additional related education and/or experience.
