Shift: Night (7:00pm-7:30am, 3×12‑hour shifts per week). Holiday and weekend availability required. Self‑scheduling tool available. Night shift differential 18% plus $3/hr weekend shift differential plus $3/hr float incentive.

As an ICU Float Nurse on the Resource Team, you will provide nursing care across all ICU units at Banner University Medical Center:
Trauma Surgical ICU, Cardiovascular ICU, Neurological ICU, and Medical‑Surgical ICU. This role utilizes the Nursing Clinical Ladder Incentive Program.

• Assess patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural, and discharge planning needs. Review history, perform physical assessment, review diagnostics and laboratory data, and report abnormal results to physicians.
• Formulate and revise the plan of care, including discharge planning, based on assessment data, patient and family input, and the multidisciplinary team. Set realistic, measurable goals.
• Implement the plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation, and supervision of the healthcare team. Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, standards of care, and regulatory requirements.
• Evaluate patient and family response to care and education, revising the plan of care as needed. Assess progress toward goals in collaboration with the team.
• Document assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in the patient record. Maintain legible, timely documentation in accordance with policy.
• Provide care based on the best available evidence and participate in research activities. Engage in unit or facility shared leadership, education, role development, orientation, precepting, and mentoring.
• Contribute to society through activities that lead to excellent patient outcomes, including participation in national nursing quality indicators and professional organizations.
• When required, supervise staff and workflow within the department.
• Interact with all levels of staff, physicians, patients, families, and external contacts to coordinate care. Work with clergy to provide spiritual support and synthesize data for patient and family response to changes in health status.

• Current, valid RN license in state of practice or temporary/interim RN license or compact RN licensure.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Experience in the relevant clinical area desired; one year of acute care experience within the past 12 months in the specialty area.
• Clinical performance competencies maintained through annual validations.
• For Banner Registry and Travel acute care positions: minimum one year experience in an acute‑care hospital setting.
• For Home Health: must operate a personal vehicle, possess a valid driver’s license, and maintain active auto insurance.
• Required fingerprint clearance cards and criminal history affidavits specific to the assignment location (Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card, Colorado Fingerprint Clearance Card, etc.).

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Professional certification preferred.
• Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
