Licensed Practical Nurse - Night Shift - Health Care

Responsibilities

• Coordinate nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education, and transitions of care.
• Support professional nursing practice across settings and continuum to meet patient/family needs.
• Plan, implement, evaluate, and communicate all phases of nursing care for assigned patients according to the Mayo Clinic Nursing Professional Practice Model.
• Provide leadership through preceptor roles, informal and formal leadership activities, and quality improvement efforts.
• Delegate patient care based on skill level, experience, patient acuity, fiscal accountability, and resource availability.
• Participate in committees or projects as needed.
• May require driving personal vehicle as part of role responsibilities.
• Eligible for TN sponsorship.

• Graduate of a baccalaureate nursing program accredited by ACEN, CCNE, or NLN CNEA. If not, one year of RN experience in an applicable care setting or one year of LPN experience at Mayo Clinic is required.
• Associate degree RN with start date after April 1, 2020 must provide evidence of baccalaureate completion within five years of start date.
• Associate degree RN with start date before April 1, 2020 must provide evidence of baccalaureate completion as per hiring‑time requirement.
• One year of RN or LPN experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience working in a team environment.
• Computer skills required; prior experience with electronic medical record systems preferred.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, nights, holidays, weekends, and on‑call.
• Ability to adapt to unpredictable situations.
• Demonstrated leadership, effective communication, and critical thinking skills.
• Current RN license by applicable state requirements.

• BLS required upon hire. Arizona and Florida maintain BLS competency;
  Midwest requires Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers from AHA or Red Cross; off‑campus positions may be exempt as determined by work area.
• Additional state licensures and/or specialty certifications required by work area.
