Salary: $15k base with $1,900 Sign‑On Bonus. 2+ years ER RN experience required.

Responsibilities

Job Summary
The RN’s practice is guided by the ANA Standard for Professional Nurse and Code of Ethics. The RN has knowledge of professional nursing principles, practices, concepts, and procedures as applied to the care of the patient population served. The RN records patients’ medical history and symptoms, performs diagnostic tests, analyzes results, operates medical equipment, administers treatment and medications, and documents patient follow‑up and rehabilitation.

Essential Functions

  • Collect health data systematically and prioritize based on patient condition and family involvement.
  • Analyze assessment data to determine diagnoses and develop, implement, evaluate, and revise individualized patient care plans, ensuring they are family‑centered and evidence‑based.
  • Identify expected outcomes specific to the patient’s health problems.
  • Implement interventions, including medications, treatments, emergency and resuscitative measures, and mitigation of drug interactions.
  • Maintain medication safety via dosage checks and IV line management (insertion, maintenance, discontinuation).
  • Provide therapeutic measures, monitor multi‑system data, and document observations in a retrievable form.
  • Evaluate patient progress toward outcomes and adjust care plans accordingly.
  • Support clinical knowledge advancement, precept new hires and students, and foster continuous learning among staff.
  • Participate in evidence‑based practice, quality improvement, and research initiatives.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and provide family‑centered care.
  • Integrate ethical principles and cultural competence into all facets of practice.
  • Evaluate own nursing practice against professional standards, statutes, and system policies.
  • Serve as a positive role model, mentor, and advocate for quality practice.
Education Requirements
  • Required:

    Associate’s or Diploma in Nursing.
  • Diploma/ADN hires must complete a BSN within 60 months of hire or have 5+ years of RN experience (direct or indirect) at hire.
  • Staff with direct stroke patient responsibility must meet stroke‑specific education addendum before start.
Experience Requirements
  • 10+ months in med‑surg or acute specialty setting.
  • 1 year RN experience required for all float positions.
  • Preferred:
    Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN).
Licenses & Certifications
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license in Arizona (state or compact).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • National certification for unit‑specific patient population required upon hire.
  • Unit‑specific certifications (e.g., DOP) and BLS training course C may be required.
