RN Post Surgical Unit Charge Full Time

USPI Arizona Specialty Hospital is hiring a RN Post Surgical Unit Charge Full Time. The hospital specializes in orthopedic and spinal surgery and is dedicated to high-quality patient care and satisfaction.

Overview

Provides shift coordination and staffing assignments based on acuity, skills, and workload. Maintains clinical oversight and patient care, intervening or escalating when patient status changes. Serves as the liaison between the care team, physicians, and ancillary services, leading shift-start huddles and shift-end debriefs. Monitors quality and compliance for charting and documentation. Coaches staff, provides teaching/feedback and conflict resolution. Manages resources by tracking, coordinating, and replenishing unit supply levels.

Provides education and mentorship; orients new or floating staff to the unit’s workflow. Conducts safety and environment rounds and reports safety incidents. Responsible for providing all nursing care services for post-surgical patients in accordance with accepted standards of care. Ensures high-quality, safe patient care and compliance with professional nursing standards, Joint Commission, and all Federal and State standards. Cares for patients from adolescent to geriatric ages.

  • Monitors quality and completeness of charting and documentation.
  • Coaches staff, provides teaching/feedback, and conflict resolution and support.
  • Facilitates resource management by tracking, coordinating, and replenishing unit supply levels.
  • Provides education and mentorship; orients new or floating staff to the unit’s workflow.
  • Conducts safety and environmental rounds and reports safety incidents.
  • Delivers nursing care for post-surgical patients per standards of care.
  • Maintains compliance with professional nursing standards, Joint Commission, and all Federal and State standards of care.
  • Cares for adolescents to geriatric patients.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited RN program.
  • 2 years of clinical RN experience in an acute care hospital preferred.
  • Current Arizona RN license.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification.
  • PALS recommended (not required).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; good organizational habits.
  • Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize workload to meet patient and unit needs.
