Nursing. The role is a Registered Nurse working in the Pre‑Op PACU department at Banner Estrella Medical Center.
Banner Estrella is a Level4 trauma center with busy CVOR, Robotic and Bariatric programs. It is a full‑time position with a leadership team focused on quality improvement and professional growth.
Shift DetailsFull‑time, 40 hours per week. 4 ten‑hour shifts from 5:30am to 4pm. On‑call nights, weekends and holidays with differential pay.
Position SummaryAssesses, plans, implements and evaluates nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and professional nursing practice. Provides specialized knowledge, judgment and skills necessary to deliver patient‑centered care while ensuring quality and accountability.
Core Functions- Assess physical, psychological, social, spiritual, developmental, cultural and discharge planning needs.
- Review history, diagnostics and laboratory data; report abnormal results to physicians.
- Formulate and revise a patient‑centered plan of care, including discharge planning.
- Implement the plan through direct care, coordination, delegation and supervision of the health‑care team.
- Evaluate patient and family response to care and teaching; revise the plan as needed.
- Document assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in the patient record.
- Participate in research, education, mentoring and unit leadership activities.
- Contribute to national nursing quality indicators and professional activities.
- Current, valid RN license in the state of practice or equivalent.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Experience in an acute‑care setting within the past 12 months (including Pre‑Op PACU, ICU or similar).
- Clinical performance competencies demonstrated through annual validations.
- Knowledge and skills specific to the perianesthesia environment.
- Ability to work on call nights, weekends and holidays.
- Strong communication and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
- Minimum of one year of acute‑care nursing experience for registry or travel positions.
- For home‑health or non‑hospital settings: valid driver’s license and active auto insurance.
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing or related field.
- Professional certification in peri‑anesthesia or critical care.
- Additional education or experience related to the specialty.
