Travel Nurse RN - ED - Emergency Department

Job Summary

Fusion Medical Staffing‑Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN ED (Emergency Department) for a 13‑week assignment in Phoenix, Arizona. The assignment is 12‑hour shifts, 36 hours per week, nights, starting ASAP.

• Rapidly assess and triage patients upon arrival, prioritizing care based on the severity of their condition.
• Explain emergency procedures and treatments to patients and families.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments per approved protocols.
• Prepare equipment and aid physicians during emergency treatments and examinations.
• Monitor patient comfort and safety throughout their time in the emergency department, responding to immediate needs.
• Observe and document patient conditions as required within scope of practice.
• Take and monitor vital signs using clinical judgment to address deviations and prevent complications.
• Respond to life‑saving situations based on emergency nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Document comprehensive nursing assessments, interventions, and outcomes in electronic medical records (EMR).
• Initiate patient education plans according to individualized needs, considering the acute nature of emergency care.
• Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, specialists, paramedics, social workers and other support staff to ensure comprehensive care.
• Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice.
• Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection‑control guidelines, and regulatory standards.

• One year of recent experience as an ER RN.
• Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS (or ENPC) certifications.

• TNCC, NIHSS, CPI, NRP, SANE certifications.
• Additional certifications or licenses as required.

• Critical thinking, excellent interpersonal communication, and service excellence.
• Proficiency in English, written and verbal instructions, PC skills.
• Physical ability to remain stationary, move equipment up to 100 lbs, push, pull, and bend.
• Interpersonal ability to work with diverse personnel and maintain professionalism.
• Motor skills for fine manipulation and assisting with procedures.
• Coping with high‑pressure situations, frequent contact with the public, and irregular activity schedules.
• Visual acuity and effective communication.
