American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a fast-paced combined adult/pediatric Emergency Department position requiring a minimum of 3 years of ED experience, a strong pediatric skillset, and an active AZ or compact RN license.
Details- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
- Combined adult and pediatric Emergency Department setting
- Patient population spans all age groups: neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
- Patient ratio of 1:4 on days, nights, and weekends
- Required to work every other weekend
- No on-call requirements
- Epic EMR (preferred)
- Required skills include: triage, blood product administration, phlebotomy, IV insertion and maintenance, continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, procedural sedation, CPAP/BiPAP management, care of ventilated patients, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and isolation precautions
- Preferred experience includes:
Level I Trauma Center, arterial line management, central line care/management, ABG interpretation, neurological and ortho-trauma cases, head injury, near drowning, spinal cord injury, gunshot wounds, and traumatic amputation
- Active AZ or compact RN license currently in hand
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, TNCC, ENPC, and PALS — all must be in hand
- Preferred certifications: CPI, PCAR
- Minimum 3 years of ED experience (hard stop)
- Must have a strong pediatric ED skillset; dedicated Peds ED experience strongly preferred, though solid pediatric experience in a mixed ED setting may be considered
- Prior travel nursing experience required — first-time travelers are not eligible (hard stop)
- Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify
- Provides emergency nursing care across all age groups in a high-acuity combined adult and pediatric ED
- Teaching hospital and Level I Trauma Center experience is preferred
- Blackout dates for time-off requests:
October 29–31 - Orientation modules may be completed onsite or remotely prior to start date, and are repeated annually
- Candidates must go to labs within 48–72 hours of accepting an offer
