Position Summary
Full‑time Night shift RN in the Neo‑Natal Intensive Care Unit at Banner University Medical Center Phoenix. Work hours 7:00PM – 7:30AM, 3 shifts per week including weekends and holidays on a rotating basis. Self‑scheduling tool available. Receive 18% night shift differential and $3/hour weekend shift differential.
Responsibilities- Assess patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural and discharge planning needs; review history, laboratory data, and consult team members.
- Formulate individualized plans of care based on assessment data, patient and family input, and medical orders; set realistic, measurable goals.
- Implement care: direct patient care, coordinate, delegate, and supervise activities of health‑care team; ensure compliance with regulations and institutional policies.
- Evaluate patient and family responses to care and teaching; revise plan of care as needed; evaluate progress toward goals.
- Document assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in the patient record, ensuring legibility and timeliness.
- Provide evidence‑based care; participate in research activities and unit leadership initiatives; mentor staff when appropriate.
- Participate in quality improvement and professional organizations to enhance patient outcomes.
- Supervise staff and manage department workflow in certain roles.
- Communicate with physicians, nurses, family, and external partners to clarify information and provide spiritual support when needed.
- Valid RN license in state of practice (or temporary/interim/compact license).
- BLS certification required.
- Prior NICU RN experience required.
- Experience in acute‑care setting within the past 12 months.
- Ability to maintain clinical performance competencies and complete annual validations.
- Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree, professional certification, and additional related education or experience.
