Full‑Time, 72 hours per pay period
Registered Nurse for a Medical/Surgical Unit (Unit‑1
OBS/2W). New Hire Sign‑on Bonus Available. At least 1 year RN experience required; neuro background preferred.
- Guide practice by ANA Standard for Professional Nurse and Code of Ethics.
- Record patients’ medical history and symptoms, perform diagnostic tests and analyze results.
- Operate medical equipment and administer treatments and medications.
- Initiate, maintain, and discontinue intravenous (IV) lines for fluids, medication, blood, and blood products.
- Administer therapies and treatments, observe patients, and document observations.
- Consult with physicians and other healthcare clinicians.
- Teach patients and families how to manage illnesses, explain post‑treatment needs, and advise on diet, nutrition, exercise, and medication self‑administration.
- Direct LPNs and nursing aides regarding patient care and delegate responsibilities when appropriate.
- Precept new hire staff and students and assist them in completing required competency tasks.
- Continuously improve nursing knowledge in the management and care of patient problems.
- Collect, analyze, and document health data to develop, implement, evaluate, and revise patient care plans.
- Initiate treatments, medications, and emergency measures based on standing orders and policies.
- Provide nursing care that addresses physical, emotional, spiritual, and social–cultural needs of patients and families.
- Evaluate patient progress toward outcomes and adapt care plans as needed.
- Document nursing interventions, therapeutic measures, monitoring data, and relevant observations in a retrievable form.
- Evaluate nursing practice against professional standards and relevant statutes, and maintain current knowledge.
- Integrate ethical principles in all aspects of practice.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members in assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
- Engage in professional development through peer interaction, preceptor/mentor programs, and evidence‑based research.
All diploma and ADN hires must complete a BSN within 60 months of hiring or have five or more years of RN experience at the time of hire. Required Associate or Diploma in Nursing.
Experience- Minimum 1 year RN experience required for all float positions.
- Required more than 10 months med‑surg or acute specialty setting experience.
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in Arizona (state or compact).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Unit‑specific certification as required by specialty area.
- National certification for unit‑specific patient population (if applicable).
