Working under the direction of the Nurse Manager (or Executive DON, Ambulatory), the Advanced Clinical Nurse delivers professional, skilled, and age-specific patient care. This role collaborates with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive, cost-effective healthcare, while actively driving clinical leadership and professional practice advancement.
Key Responsibilities- Clinical Excellence: Perform comprehensive patient assessments, administer medications, and execute tailored plans of care.
- Practice Advancement: Promote and demonstrate professional growth through advanced quality improvement and leadership activities.
- Advocacy &
Education:
Partner across disciplines while acting as a dedicated client advocate and patient educator. - Care Delegation: Provide or delegate nursing care safely in accordance with Valley wise Health policies.
- Team Supervision: Indirectly supervise ancillary personnel and actively champion team-building initiatives.
- Documentation & Compliance: Complete, process, and maintain all required clinical documentation accurately.
- Scheduling: Flexibility to fulfill mandatory standby or on-call time as required by the department.
Education:
- Requires a Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Nursing.
- Must have at least one (1) year of recent acute care hospital RN experience that demonstrates an understanding of the required knowledge, skills and abilities; or if completed the New Grad RN program at Valley wise Health then must have at least one (1) year of Valley wise Health experience as a RN and be in good standing.
- Must possess a current, valid AZ RN license, temporary AZ RN license, or valid compact RN licensure for current state of practice.
- Must be in good standing with the issuing Board of Nursing.
- Requires a BLS card obtained through an American Heart Association (AHA) training center upon hire.
- In addition, certification or continuing education may be required based on area of practice:
- Pre Op/PACU (Other than Peoria):
Must obtain ACLS and PALS within ninety (90) days of hire or transfer. Must obtain TCAR and PCAR within ninety (90) days of hire or transfer.
- Pre Op/PACU (Other than Peoria):
- Ability to work with culturally diverse people is a must.
- Bilingual is preferred.
- Must have excellent communication, time management and customer service skills.
- Requires basic computer word processing skills (e.g., formatting, editing, printing, composing email, internet searches, etc.) to be able to successfully navigate through an electronic medical record using a computer.
- Requires the ability to read, write and speak effectively in English.
