Position: Registered Nurse – Medical Oncology (Outpatient Clinic)

You will be a key member of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to supporting patients through complex cancer care. In this outpatient clinic setting, you’ll provide expert nursing assessments, manage symptoms, coordinate follow‑up care, and offer education and emotional support to patients and their families. You’ll collaborate closely with oncologists and other specialists to ensure each patient receives personalized, compassionate care tailored to their unique needs.

Schedule

Monday – Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm or 4 ten‑hour shifts.

Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive nursing assessments for patient, family, and community resources.
  • Formulate and implement individualized plans of care, including discharge planning.
  • Coordinate and supervise care delivery by other licensed nurses and health team members.
  • Document patient assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in the patient record.
  • Evaluate patient progress toward goals and adjust care plans as needed.
  • Provide evidence‑based nursing care and participate in clinical research activities.
  • Participate in unit or facility shared leadership and educational activities.
  • Contribute to national nursing quality indicators and professional organizations.
  • Assist with spiritual support and coordinate with clergy when needed.
  • Communicate patient status and care plans to all levels of staff and external contacts.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Current, valid RN license in the state of practice, or temporary/interim/compact RN license.
  • BLS certification is required.
  • Experience as a Registered Nurse in a medical or acute care setting within the past 12 months.
  • Demonstrated competency in patient assessment, plan implementation, and evaluation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing or related field.
  • Professional certification in oncology or related specialty.
  • Additional related education and/or experience.
