Banner Estrella Medical Center, a magnet designated hospital, is located near Loop 101 and Thomas Road in West Phoenix, proudly serves the West Valley, spanning over 15 zip codes. In joining our team, you will be part of a closely-knit Women and Infant’s Department that continually delivers outstanding, safe, and high-quality care to our mothers, their family, and our littlest patients.

Our 36‑bed Postpartum unit provides compassionate care for mother and baby during their inpatient stay. This department collaborates with many professional disciplines to ensure safe effective patient care to achieve our excellent patient outcomes. Our Postpartum nurses educate and assist new mothers with physical and emotional needs during the postpartum period. Our unit has made contributions towards the nursing profession by sharing our knowledge, findings, and expertise through many avenues such as national nursing conferences.

This is a full‑time NIGHT shift position 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM. You will have the opportunity to utilize our self‑scheduling tool for shift and weekend coverage. Enjoy an 18% night shift differential and a flat rate of $3 per hour weekend shift differential.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and professional nursing practice standards. It is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self or others under their direction, utilizing specialized knowledge, judgment and nursing skills necessary to assess data and plan, provide and evaluate care appropriate to the patient’s physical and developmental age.

FUNCTIONS
  • Assesses patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural and discharge planning needs. Reviews patient history and physical with patient/family and ensures completion within appropriate timeframe. Reviews diagnostics and laboratory data and reports abnormal results to the physician(s) and other appropriate caregivers. Completes assessment and reassessments according to patient need and as outlined in policy.
