Nursing Coordinator Transfer Center Per Diem Position Summary

(General statement reflecting the overall purpose of the position)

The Cord, Nursing coordinates a patient-centered admission process for patients transferring into the Abrazo Community Health Network/Carondelet System ensuring placement in an appropriate level of care bed and financial screening per EMTALA regulations. They employ critical thinking skills to expedite admissions into ACHN/Carondelet while demonstrating ACHN/Carondelet's Mission, Vision, Values and Service Standards in all interactions with referring facilities, physicians, employees and guests.

Effective communication skills - phone etiquette, written and verbal - with all levels of staff, physicians, patients and families

The Nursing Coordinator Transfer Center Per Diem Center Candidate Will Possess The Following Education, License/Certifications, And Experience.

Education

Required:

Graduation from accredited nursing program

Preferred: BSN preferred

Work Experience

Required:

Minimum of 3 years continuous clinical experience in a critical/acute care setting with adult neuro/trauma/cardiovascular/critical care or emergency room nursing preferred. Ability to manage initial assessment data and prioritize patient care with appropriate decision making.

Preferred: 8 years of critical care, emergency room, or house supervisor experience

Certifications/Licensure/Registration

Required:

Registered Nurse with current state licensure. Current BLS certification required.

Required:

EMTALA Training through Tenet Health Stream

Preferred: ACLS training preferred.
