Role Description

The Ambulatory Oncology Educator is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Phoenix Area. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating education programs for oncology staff in ambulatory settings, ensuring evidence-based practice and consistent standards of care. Day-to-day work includes assessing learning needs, developing lesson plans and teaching materials, delivering individual and group training sessions, and supporting clinical teams with ongoing education on oncology treatments, protocols, and safety practices.

The Ambulatory Oncology Educator collaborates with physicians, nurses, advanced practice professionals, and administrators to align education initiatives with organizational goals, monitor competency, and promote continuous professional development. The role also involves tracking educational outcomes, maintaining accurate documentation, and contributing to quality improvement and regulatory readiness efforts.

Qualifications
  • Strong education and teaching skills, including experience with Lesson Planning, Education, and Teaching in a clinical or oncology setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide Training and develop staff competencies through structured programs and informal coaching.
  • Excellent Communication skills, including the ability to present complex clinical information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Current registered nurse (RN) or other relevant clinical licensure in good standing; oncology certification (e.g., OCN) preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or a related healthcare field required; master’s degree in education, nursing, or healthcare administration is an advantage.
  • Experience in ambulatory oncology, infusion, or cancer center operations, with knowledge of evidence-based guidelines and patient safety standards.
  • Proficiency in using digital tools and learning management systems to deliver and track education.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across disciplines, prioritize multiple projects, and adapt education plans to changing clinical needs.
