American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a Level III night shift position requiring high-acuity L&D experience and AWHONN Intermediate certification.

• Labor and Delivery unit within a Level III facility, including Antepartum, LDRP, and Mother/Baby coverage
• Patient ratio of 1-2 couplets
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
• Minimum of 3 weekend shifts per month required (Saturday/Sunday)
• No on-call requirements
• Occasional floating to Post Partum unit within scope of practice
• Epic charting preferred but other EMR experience accepted

• Active AZ or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate
• Minimum 3 years of high-acuity Labor & Delivery experience required; 2 years considered if from a teaching or high-risk facility
• Trauma Level I experience required
• Skilled in EFM, internal/external fetal monitoring, and IUPC placement/calibration
• Experience with sterile speculum and vaginal exams, NST, and reflex/edema assessments
• Proficient in recognition and treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Experience assisting with vaginal and high-risk deliveries, circulating for C-sections, and forceps/vacuum extraction
• Skilled in hemorrhage/shock management and C-section recovery
• Experience with amnioinfusion and postpartum care for vaginal delivery, C-section, couplet care, multiples, hemorrhage, and pregnancy-induced hypertension
• Neonatal care skills including cord care, newborn assessment, infant identification, and hypoglycemia management
• Experience with epidural/general anesthesia and pain assessment/management
• Proficient in blood and blood product administration, venous blood draws, IV starts, and infusion pump/drip monitoring
• Familiar with isolation precautions, PPE, and vaccine administration

• Provide comprehensive labor and delivery nursing care across antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum stages
• Assist with high-risk deliveries and support physicians during C-sections and vaginal deliveries
• Deliver neonatal care immediately following birth, including newborn assessments and discharge teaching to parents
• Support postpartum patients through recovery, couplet care, and complication management
• Candidates with fewer than 5 years of experience must have prior travel assignment history to be considered
• Facility does not accept local candidates; must reside at least 75 miles from the facility
• Holiday RTO requests will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis
