American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift assignment requiring 3+ years of high acuity L&D experience and a Level I trauma center background.
Details- Labor and Delivery unit with additional coverage in Antepartum, LDRP, and Mother/Baby areas
- Patient ratio of 1-2 couplets
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (19:00-07:30)
- Minimum of 3 weekend shifts per month required (Saturday/Sunday)
- No on-call requirements
- Occasional floating to Post Partum within scope of practice
- Epic charting experience preferred but not required
- Active AZ or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate
- Minimum 3 years of high acuity L&D experience required, or 2 years if from a teaching or high-risk facility
- Level I Trauma Center experience required
- Proficiency in EFM, IUPC placement/calibration, sterile vaginal exams, and NST
- Experience assisting with high-risk and vaginal deliveries, C-section circulation, and hemorrhage/shock management
- Skilled in blood/blood product administration, venous blood draws, and peripheral IV starts and maintenance
- Neonatal care skills including cord care, newborn assessment, and discharge teaching
- Postpartum care experience across vaginal delivery, C-section, couplet care, multiples, hemorrhage, and pregnancy-induced hypertension
- Experience with epidural/general anesthesia and pain management, including PCA use
- Provide comprehensive labor and delivery care including antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum management
- Support high-risk deliveries and assist with procedures such as forceps/vacuum extraction and C-section recovery
- Deliver neonatal care in the delivery room including APGAR scoring and thermoregulation
- Educate patients and families on newborn care, car seat safety, and circumcision aftercare
- First-time travelers will be considered if they have 5+ years of relevant experience
- Local candidates are not accepted; candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility
- Holiday RTO requests will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis
- Block scheduling is not available for this position
