The Animal Assistance Coordinator supports the daily operations of the Animal Assistance Department, ensuring all activities run efficiently and effectively. This role assists with training new employees and volunteers, provides hands‑on support with departmental duties as needed, and helps maintain a positive and compassionate customer experience. The Coordinator also plays a key role in fostering strong employee relations, addressing staff concerns, and resolving customer inquiries or complaints with professionalism and care.
Job Requirements:- High school diploma/GED required.
- Minimum two years providing exemplary customer service
- Leadership experience preferred
- Spanish bilingual preferred
- Animal handling experience required
- Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills required
- Serve as a lead to the Animal Assistance Team, providing direction and support to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Assist with training and development of new employees and volunteers to maintain high-quality service and consistent procedures.
- Handle customer escalations and ensure a positive experience for both customers and team members.
- Create and maintain employee schedules and task assignments, ensuring adequate coverage and efficiency.
- Foster a positive, team-oriented workplace culture that encourages collaboration, growth, and compassionate customer interactions.
- Partner with the Animal Assistance Supervisor on staffing, performance management, and department improvements.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Must be able to hear above the sound of the animals.
There will be exposure to dust, heat, cold and temperature changes; occasional wet floors, and animal noises, odors and dander. Most time will be spent in a typical air conditioned and heated office environment.
