Safety Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated Safety Specialist to join our team onsite. You will be responsible for managing all safety, health, and environmental requirements during installation and sustaining activities. This role involves problem-solving, auditing, inspections, and incident investigations with a focus on service-oriented solutions for our employees, contractors, and customers. Additionally, you will assist with the development and implementation of safety programs and training.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, review, evaluate, and implement health and safety policies, programs, and procedures.
  • Increase health and safety awareness at all organizational levels.
  • Investigate serious and critical personal injury and near-miss incidents, and assist with root cause analysis.
  • Address complaints of hazardous working conditions and report to staff.
  • Respond to employee safety concerns and track solutions to completion.
  • Maintain records in accordance with regulatory requirements and prepare necessary reports.
  • Direct contract safety personnel and conduct worksite safety inspections.
  • Attend all safety meetings and assist in the development of site safety plans.
  • Review site safety plans at project kickoff meetings and pre-task plans.
  • Coordinate on-site customer-specific safety training and conduct weekly safety audits.
  • Arrange health and safety evaluations by external agencies as needed.
  • Act as a liaison with customer and contracted personnel on safety matters.
  • Develop and deliver assigned safety training programs.
  • Coordinate training in safety areas such as first aid, CPR, accident prevention, and workplace inspections.
  • Liaise with customers regarding emergency procedures and safety education.
  • Perform risk assessments and implement controls to mitigate risks.
  • Interact with regulatory agencies as required.
  • Support a culture of safe work practices and safety excellence.

Essential

Skills:

  • 2+ years of EHS experience in a professional environment (manufacturing or construction).
  • Experience in creating safety plans (SOPs).
  • Participation in at least 2 professional safety audits.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulatory requirements.
  • General knowledge of safety and occupational health methods.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience working with contractors and construction safety.
  • Ability to deliver and document training professionally.
  • Strong organizational skills for managing multiple projects.
  • Strong writing skills for process documentation and report preparation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across organizational lines.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and take initiative.

Additional Skills &

Qualifications:

  • BCSP certification (CHST, OHST, ASP, GSP) preferred.
  • General knowledge of accident investigation and root cause analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple work initiatives simultaneously.

Work Environment:

The role is based onsite at a semiconductor clean room environment, operating Monday through Friday on the day shift. The dress code is casual, with PPE such as long pants, long sleeve shirts, hard hats, and glasses provided.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $42.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
