As a Senior Specialist I, EHS you will report to the US Region EHS Lead and support the implementation and continuous improvement of Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) programs for ASM's Service organization at an assigned site and associated customer locations. You will work closely with Field Service Engineers (FSEs), site leadership, customers, and EHS professionals to ensure service activities are conducted safely, compliantly, and in accordance with ASM requirements.
This role serves as the local EHS resource for service operations, helping to implement corporate and regional safety programs, support regulatory compliance, conduct field safety activities, facilitate training, investigate incidents, and drive continuous improvement. The position requires a strong field presence and regular interaction with employees and customers to promote a proactive safety culture.
The Senior EHS Specialist is an individual contributor role focused on execution, implementation, and operational support, focusing on effective site-level leadership, implementation and continuous improvement of established EHS programs.
Education & Experience- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related field preferred.
- 5 years of experience in occupational health and safety within manufacturing, semiconductor, high-technology, field service, facilities, or related industries.
- Working knowledge of applicable occupational health and safety regulations.
- Experience working in semiconductor fabs, cleanroom environments, laboratories, or other high-tech manufacturing facilities preferred.
- Experience supporting field service personnel, contractors, or customer-facing operations preferred.
- OSHA 511, ASP, CSP or other EHS certification preferred.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with site leadership to support the integration of EHS expectations into daily service operations.
- Partner with Service Managers and site leadership to identify safety risks, review performance trends, and develop practical risk reduction strategies.
- Participate in site operational reviews, staff meetings, and leadership discussions to provide EHS guidance and support informed decision-making.
- Regularly communicate EHS performance, emerging risks, regulatory changes, and improvement opportunities to site leadership.
- Support site leaders in fostering a positive safety culture through employee engagement, visible leadership activities, and proactive safety conversations.
- Collaborate with site management to establish and track site-specific EHS objectives, action plans, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide coaching and consultation to supervisors and managers on EHS responsibilities, incident prevention, hazard recognition, and regulatory compliance.
- Support leadership teams during incident investigations by identifying root causes, recommending corrective actions, and verifying implementation of improvements.
- Facilitate leadership participation in safety observations, Safety Management by Walking Around (SMBWA) activities, and site safety committee meetings.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to site leadership on EHS matters while promoting alignment with ASM policies, customer requirements, and industry best practices.
