Safety Specialist

As a Safety Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing and implementing safety, health, and environmental requirements onsite during installation and sustaining activities. You will work closely with the safety manager to solve problems, conduct audits, and manage inspections, ensuring a service-oriented approach to our customers, employees, and contractors. Your role includes assisting with the development and implementation of safety programs and training.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, review, evaluate, and implement health and safety policies, programs, and procedures.
  • Increase health and safety awareness at all levels within the organization.
  • Investigate serious/critical personal injury and near-miss incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and identify solutions.
  • Investigate and report on hazardous working conditions and provide solutions.
  • Respond to employee safety concerns, assist with solutions, and track completion.
  • Maintain records in accordance with regulatory requirements and prepare reports as needed.
  • Provide direction for contract safety personnel and conduct worksite safety inspections.
  • Attend all meetings pertaining to the safety of personnel.
  • Assist in the development and management of site safety plans.
  • Coordinate and conduct on-site customer-specific safety training.
  • Conduct weekly safety audits and submit reports.
  • Arrange for health and safety testing and evaluations by external agencies.
  • Act as a liaison with customer personnel and key contracted personnel.
  • Develop and deliver safety training, including first aid and CPR.
  • Analyze work processes and perform risk assessments to implement controls.
  • Support the company's commitment to a culture of safe work practices.
Essential Skills
  • 2+ years of experience in EHS in a professional environment (manufacturing or construction).
  • Experience in creating safety plans (SOPs) and conducting safety audits.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulatory requirements and safety and occupational health methods.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Experience working with contractors and construction safety.
  • Ability to deliver and document training professionally.
  • Strong writing skills for process documentation and report preparation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a team member across organizational lines.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and take initiative within guidelines.
Additional

Skills & Qualifications
  • BCSP certification (CHST, OHST, ASP, GSP) preferred.
  • General knowledge of accident investigation and root cause analysis.
Work Environment

This role is based on-site at TSMC, within semiconductor clean room environments. The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, on the day shift. The work attire is casual, with provided personal protective equipment, including long pants, long sleeve shirts, hard hats, and safety glasses. There may be future travel opportunities for other projects across the USA, but for the next few years, the position will be 100% on-site.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $42.00/hr individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
