Description WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

The Quality Control Manager is a key position in our Phoenix, AZ branch. The position plans, coordinates, and directs full quality control services of precast concrete structures for all manufactured products including large complex and high risk projects. This is a managerial professional position and we’re looking for a professional quality control leader eager to lead a quality control team ensuring sound processes and procedures for the best precast concrete structures manufactured in the industry.

Reporting to the General Manager, you’ll primarily work with a team of engineers, production teams, and quality control teams onsite and engage with NPCA professionals and customers to ensure our products are manufactured per specifications and of top quality.

A highlight of your day-to-day will include:

  • Leads the Quality Control (QC) Department and ensures compliance with company standards and the NPCA QC Manual.
  • Recruits, trains, schedules, supervises, and evaluates QC staff; provides coaching and corrective action as needed.
  • Drives continuous improvement initiatives to ensure high-quality manufacturing and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintains and updates the Quality Control Manual in alignment with NPCA standards and plant management direction.
  • Ensures pre-pour, post-pour, and product inspections are properly performed, documented, and recorded.
  • Reviews inspection reports, evaluation reports, and scrap data to ensure products meet drawings, specifications, and quality processes.
  • Oversees daily concrete sampling and testing (slump, air content, temperature, unit weight) and ensures accurate documentation.
  • Promotes a safe, clean, and organized work environment and enforces established safety procedures.
  • Identifies nonconformances, coordinates corrective actions, and collaborates with management and production teams to prevent quality issues.
Qualifications WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

You’re enthusiastic and motivated in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in Concrete Industry Management (CIM) or a related field. You have experience working in a quality control precast or construction work environment leading a small to medium size department. Your willingness to participate and engage in a team environment and hold the following certifications (ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade I, and NPCA PQS School Level I and II), and highly desired but not required a certification from the Precast Concrete Institute (PCI).

You are proficient in database administration and computer programs related to manufacturing, familiar with ACI, ASTM and NPCA manuals and procedures. You have strong verbal and written communication skills and have the ability to work with high autonomy in a rapidly changing and evolving environment. You’re safety conscious not just for yourself, but for your team.
