Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning, development, and implementation of Ryan's quality program for data centers.
  • Manage and perform daily QC responsibilities to ensure projects are constructed in accordance with contract documents.
  • Lead and train project team members on quality-related activities.
  • Oversee documentation and physical inspection phases, coordinating with internal and external personnel to produce a quality product.
  • Review shop drawings and submittals for conformance with specifications, leveraging team expertise when necessary.
  • Participate in preparatory meetings to establish standards of care for each scope of work.
  • Engage in pre-installation meetings with subcontractors, project team members, and stakeholders to discuss quality issues.
  • Ensure all team members, trade partners, and stakeholders understand quality management requirements.
  • Set quality management expectations, including inspection schedules, testing requirements, and documentation for each scope.
  • Verify and document that all materials are approved, handled, stored, and installed correctly.
  • Conduct, participate in, or assign quality management tasks to project team members.
  • Monitor, track, log, and audit all QC activities, including testing, inspections, and supporting documentation.
  • Support the implementation of corrective actions for non-conformances and quality issues.
  • Conduct root cause analysis to identify, resolve, and implement solutions to quality issues.
  • Conduct and document weekly QC meetings with the superintendent and provide written minutes.
  • Perform periodic quality walkthroughs with the client, design team, and/or client quality representatives.
  • Provide weekly QC reports reinforcing compliance with project standards and addressing non-conformance promptly.
  • Assist with punch list and other phase turnover activities.
  • Stop work if necessary to resolve matters that affect safety, quality, or progress.
  • Capture and share lessons learned with the project team, trade partners, and Ryan Mission Critical project teams.
  • Travel as required when not living near the project site.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of five years of successful field quality management experience in mission critical construction or large construction projects.
  • Technical degree in construction, civil, architecture, engineering, or equivalent.
  • Experience in design, construction, and/or commissioning for large, complex MEP-heavy projects.
  • Previous experience leading construction documentation and contract administration.
  • Knowledge of quality systems such as Malcolm Baldridge, ISO 9000, Lean, Kaizen, or Army Corps of Engineers.
  • Familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam, and Revit.
