Position:
Quality Inspector – Powers & Controls team.
Location:
Phoenix, AZ. Role Type:
Onsite. Eligibility: U.S. citizenship required.
- Inspect rework and assembly performed by others, and solder electronic components per IPC-A-610 and J-STD.
- Articulate and understand written instructions from customer flow down, such as purchase orders and customer technical documentation.
- Read and interpret technical data such as component maintenance manuals (CMMs), assembly/work instructions, and engineering prints.
- Generate Authorized Release Certificates (ARC) for multiple regulatory civil aviation authorities or Certificates of Conformance for military customers.
- Ensure no defects in assembly, soldering, bonding, or finish.
- Perform unit shakedown to check for foreign objects and loose internal hardware.
- Mark defects and remove rejects, setting them aside for repair.
- Ensure appropriate record keeping and review work order documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Interact with team members and support staff as well as external customers when applicable (source inspection, external approvals, etc.).
- Issue scrap certificates and comply with ESD and FOD programs.
- Provide constructive feedback to teammates when corrections are needed.
- Work with minimal oversight in a multi‑discipline team environment, providing insight and solutions to complicated technical and procedural issues.
- Work the second shift:
Monday – Friday, 3:30pm – 12:00am (training may occur on first shift: Monday – Friday, 6am – 2:30pm for up to 60 days).
- Occasional weekend and holiday support may be required to meet customer needs.
- Exposure to products of various weights and sizes, equipment with moving parts, and chemicals that may emit fumes.
- Must wear static‑control and personal protective equipment to minimize safety risk.
- Distinguish colors and meet vision requirements.
- Bending, stooping, reaching, and turning as needed to place units in test stands, pick up totes, and place units on racks.
- Using hands for extended periods to perform testing and troubleshooting tasks (e.g., grasping, holding, picking, placing, twisting, fine manipulation).
- Work in a standing position for up to 8 hours per day.
- Lifting up to 40 lbs, transporting product with or without product carts.
- High‑school diploma with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of a high‑school diploma or GED.
- Familiarity with principles of quality inspection.
- Preferred:
Experience with FAA 8130 creation. - Preferred:
Experience working with SAP or any other ERP system. - Preferred:
Experience working with blueprints and/or technical drawings. - Preferred:
Solder experience. - Preferred:
Prior experience with component‑level troubleshooting. - Preferred: A&P license.
