Key Responsibilities- Receiving, Induction Inspections
- Open shipping containers, validate packing slips, and verify part count with visual inspection.
- Perform contract review and interpret customer and flow‑down requirements.
- Assign tracking numbers, job travelers, and lot numbers.
- Document discrepancies and take corrective actions.
- Release components according to the production schedule and delivery plan.
- In‑Process and Outsourcing Inspection
- Carry out inspections to meet delivery dates in accordance with routing instructions.
- Audit routing and verify quality compliance of all prior operations.
- Assist production personnel with quality issues and ensure vendor compliance.
- Create purchase orders for spot operations and route components for processing.
- File all documentation and review certifications from outside processors.
- Record observations and recommend process improvements.
- Final Inspection
- Complete final inspections to meet delivery dates and ensure all manufacturing steps are finished.
- Measure components with precision instruments and document any discrepancies.
- Validate laboratory results, verify part counts, serial numbers, and lot numbers.
- Mark parts, complete paperwork, and certify compliance.
- Package product in accordance with customer and Chromalloy requirements.
- General Duties
- Drive quality and process repeatability through mistake‑proofing methods.
- Collaborate with Quality and Engineering to develop inspection methods.
- Assist in disposition of non‑conforming product and propose defect‑elimination solutions.
- Initiate corrective actions when necessary.
- Analyze reject data, communicate training needs, and coordinate scheduling with supervisors.
- Train less‑skilled employees and perform additional duties as assigned.
- 1‑2 years of quality experience, including inspection checks with precision measuring devices.
- Ability to read and apply process specifications, customer, and contract requirements, including B/P limits.
- Knowledge of regulatory certifications and ability to obtain them when required.
- Computer skills and strong analytical problem‑solving ability.
- Self‑motivated with high ownership, ability to multitask, and strong focus on commitments.
- Good written and oral communication skills and the ability to provide accurate feedback to supervisors.
- Lean mindset and skill in driving continuous process improvements.
- Team‑building skills and ability to share data that reflects team results.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Physical – Must be able to bend, squat, kneel, crouch, reach, and use fine finger movements; lift up to 50 lbs; stand, walk, and push/pull as required.
- Mental – Must be able to sit, stand, walk, handle objects, read/comprehend, write, perform calculations, communicate orally, reason, and analyze.
- Environmental – Exposure to moving machinery and excessive noise; no exposure to extreme temperatures, dust, fumes, gases, vibration, or confined quarters.
