Product Testing Engineer
Locations:

Duration: 06+ Months with Possible Extension.
Pay Range: $40-$45/Hour on W2/C2C (All inclusive)

We are seeking a Senior Quality Engineering Consultant (SDET/Product Engineering) with strong experience in quality engineering, Agile product delivery, and behavior-driven development (BDD). The ideal candidate will proactively improve product quality by identifying requirement gaps, defining comprehensive test scenarios, strengthening acceptance criteria, and partnering with Product Owners, Engineering, and QA teams throughout the software development lifecycle.

Experience in financial services, payments, authorization systems, or transaction processing is highly preferred.

• Review product features, epics, and user stories to identify edge cases, negative scenarios, and requirement gaps before development begins.
• Collaborate with Product Owners to improve user story quality, acceptance criteria, and business requirements.
• Author and review Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) scenarios and acceptance tests.
• Partner with Engineering and QA teams to develop comprehensive test strategies covering positive, negative, boundary, and combination test scenarios.
• Participate in backlog refinement, sprint planning, and Definition of Ready (DoR)/Definition of Done (DoD) activities.
• Validate feature readiness throughout development, testing, and production deployment.
• Support go-live readiness by verifying business scenario coverage and environment preparedness.
• Investigate, reproduce, and triage production and testing defects, providing detailed root cause analysis and risk assessments.
• Document reusable business logic, edge cases, test scenarios, and quality artifacts to improve organizational knowledge.
• Identify opportunities to improve software quality processes, testing standards, and Agile delivery practices.
• Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure business expectations are fully understood and delivered.

• 5+ years of experience in Test Engineering, Quality Engineering, SDET, or Product Engineering.
• Strong experience reviewing business requirements and identifying requirement gaps.
• Hands-on experience writing BDD scenarios, Gherkin, acceptance criteria, and functional test cases.
• Strong knowledge of Agile Scrum, backlog refinement, sprint planning, and user story management.
• Experience with Definition of Ready (DoR) and Definition of Done (DoD) practices.
• Expertise in designing edge case, negative, boundary, and integration test scenarios.
• Experience collaborating with Product Owners, Developers, Business Analysts, and QA teams.
• Strong defect triage, root cause analysis, and risk assessment skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently in fast-paced Agile environments.

• Experience in Financial Services, Payments, Authorization Platforms, or Transaction Processing Systems.
• Experience with API testing and integration testing.
• Familiarity with automation testing frameworks and SDET best practices.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and Dev Ops processes.
• Experience using tools such as Jira, Azure Dev Ops, Confluence, or similar Agile management platforms.
• Exposure to SQL and database validation.
• ISTQB or equivalent testing certification is a plus.
