Senior Principal Engineer, Product Quality

Overview

ASM is a global semiconductor company providing advanced technology solutions for markets such as 5G, cloud computing, AI, and autonomous driving.

You are responsible for determining the most effective ways to manufacture quality products or services, developing ways to increase productivity, maximizing efficiency and process quality, and enabling rapid growth without compromising product and customer satisfaction.

• Lead a team to ensure end-to-end quality assurance of in-house operations and customer data, setting preventive measures on non-conformances.
• Manage quality non-conformances – define causes in intake and filtering.
• Coordinate with corporate quality teams on customer expectations and follow-up.
• Ensure timely and high-quality closure of NCs, including preventive actions.
• Setup and maintain a customer quality dashboard.
• Align with customers on critical indexes.
• Propose process improvements and participate in the deployment of new and improved processes.
• Initiate, drive, and track improvements on the execution of critical processes within cooperating functions.
• Drive resolution of structural quality issues within corporate programs (e.g., QMS restructuring).
• Manage well-structured inspection plans and collaborate with cross‑functions to improve tests and assembly processes.
• Lead and drive quality assurance metrics to targets, including managing contract manufacturers.
• Guide the team through 8D methodology to close non‑conformances.

• Demonstrated proven track record driving problem‑solving methodology.
• Preferably >10 years of experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Ability to influence across the organization and drive change.
• Familiar with operational excellence tools such as Lean manufacturing, FMEA, 8D, PDCA, six sigma, etc.

• Experience in capital equipment building, preferably in the semiconductor industry.
• Trained in minimum Green Belt problem‑solving methodology.

• Analytical thinking and commitment to drive teams to meet business goals.
• Strong written, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Self‑driven personality and independence.

• Degree or equivalent experience for >15 years in a related field.
