Summary:

The K  Metrology team supports manufacturing, engineering, test, repair, overhaul and aftermarket service centers globally for the Aerospace & Defense, Automotive, Medical, Safety, Semiconductor and related industries. Services include embedded metrology system management, calibration and repair, test & inspection, metrology engineering, preventive maintenance, NADCAP special process support, AMS
2750 Heat Treat pyrometry, and more. Operations span laboratories worldwide, field service operations, and mobile laboratory platforms to ensure customer systems meet high standards through calibration, preventive maintenance, automation, audit support, and performance metrics.

Job Summary:

The Sr. Metrology Technician performs routine calibrations, tests, and inspections in‑lab or on‑site using accredited standards, handles day‑to‑day escalations and priority requests, and may provide assistance to entry‑level technicians. Responsibilities include calibration of metrology lab standards as required, documenting activities, and supporting regulatory and customer requirements.

Location:

Deer Valley, Phoenix, AZ.

• Perform calibration and certification of electronic and physical/dimensional measuring and test equipment according to technical specifications, ensuring traceability to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
• Calibrate and repair equipment such as multimeters, frequency counters, timers, oscilloscopes, and thermo‑hygrometers.
• Calibrate standards used in calibrations and maintain equipment to established performance standards.
• Record maintenance activities in CMS, generate reports on test results, equipment conditions, repairs, and preventive maintenance, and prepare necessary documentation per customer and regulatory requirements.
• Interpret and create uncertainty budgets in accordance with ISO 17025:2017.
• Utilize common laboratory measuring, calibrating, and test equipment.
• Complete all other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma with 7+ years of experience in the field, OR associate’s degree in engineering technology or a relevant field with 5+ years of experience.
• Working knowledge of voltage, current, resistance, capacitance, time, frequency, signal conditioning, blueprint and drawings, dimensional tooling, hand tools, pressure controllers, pressure dead weight testers, force gages and load cells, etc.
• Ability to interpret, validate, modify, and create uncertainty budgets in accordance with ISO 17025:2107.
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office software, including Excel.

• Experience with Indy Soft, Fluke Met/Team, Fluke Met/Track, and Met/Cal systems.
• Familiarity with laboratory measurement and calibration equipment.
• Experience in calibration of mass and weights, and/or use of mass comparators.
